Windshield change

The windscreen not only provides visibility — it is also an important part of the car body’s rigidity and safety. A small chip or crack in the glass can suddenly grow into a large fracture because of temperature changes or bumps in the road, compromising driving safety and preventing the car from passing its roadworthiness test. At selected Carstop workshops we offer professional vehicle glass replacement using quality certified glass and specialist bonding technology, restoring the vehicle’s original safety and weather resistance.

Carstop workshops include the following among their maintenance services

Replacement of windscreens, rear windows and side windows
Checking the wipers and fitting new ones
Transferring sensors and accessories to the new glass
Checking modern driver assistance systems (ADAS cameras) after glass replacement

How to recognise when you should bring your car in for a check

There is a visible crack or chip in the driver's direct field of vision
Even a small stone chip in the driver's field of vision or at the edge of the glass is dangerous, because it impairs visibility and can spread into a large crack while driving. A car with this kind of damage is also not permitted to pass the roadworthiness test.
The glass is hazed or scratched, or the bonded joint is letting water in
Years of wiper action, sand and stones wear the surface of the glass, making it hazy and causing glare from oncoming headlights in the dark. Likewise, damp or water getting in at the edges of the glass points to an aged or detached bonded joint.

How long does the glass replacement process take?
The glass replacement itself takes about 1–2 hours, but after the new glass is bonded in place the car must stand still for at least 2–4 hours. This is essential so that the specialist glass adhesive reaches its initial strength and guarantees the seal and safety of the glass.
Is glass replacement carried out at every Carstop workshop?
No — vehicle glass replacement requires specific working conditions and equipment, so this service is available at selected Carstop workshops across Estonia. For more detailed information and to find the most convenient workshop, contact our customer support or send an enquiry through the web form.
